The bright night sky
Filled with the stars
Even in the city
On my balcony
I can see them.
The caged heart
My baited breath
Wishing to be free
To free the love
To free the song
The brilliance of the sky
It seems to be crying
A million shimmering tears
That fall
Causing the most beautiful thing
To grace ones eyes
Cause even the hopeless can learn hope
And the cold can learn to love
There is always something out there
For each one of us
We just have to pray and wish
Upon that shoot star
Even the fools can fall in love
And the homeless can find
Open arms to run to
There is no such thing as loneliness
If we all turn our heads
Towards the sky
Cause even the romantics can learn to live
And even the emotionless can learn to be happy
Just turn your head to the sky
And sing
Don't hold back, let your voice be heard
Someone out there has open ears
So if everyone can be filled with joy
Why do I have nowhere to run?
Why can my head only be turned upward
To the sky
Screaming out?
Why can't I find my light?
That shooting star to fall into my arms
Why can't I find the one
I can run to
Why? Am I the only one?
My voice dies
As my heart bleeds
Pressed against cold metal bars
Unable to break free
Unable to keeping singing
I can't keep dreaming
I can't keep hoping
There are no ears
To hear my voice
The world has died
I can only sit here on my balcony
And cry into the night
Screaming at the brilliant stars
Who seem to glimmer and shine
Mocking me in an unheard voice...
Or do they share the sorrow
That the whole world knows
Because we have closed our ears
And our eyes
And covered the shooting stars
Of which we rely
To fulfill our dreams?
